Entries now open for the 2024 Credit Union Art Competition!

8 October, 2024

North Midlands Credit Union is delighted to announce that we are now taking entries for the 2024 Credit Union Art Competition!

One of the most prominent and longest-running competitions of its type across Ireland, this year’s Credit Union Art Competition theme focuses on ‘The Joys of Life’ inviting participants to share what brings them joy and happiness. Celebrating life’s simple pleasures and treasured moments through the likes of beautiful sunsets, sharing laughter with friends, or spending time with loved ones, the theme encourages participants to highlight their precious memories.

North Midlands Credit Union is running the local stage of the competition and would be delighted if some of your students would like to participate.

There are two categories – General Category & Additional Needs Category – with the following age groups in each category:

Age limit applying as of December 31st 2024

  • 7 years and under
  • 8 – 10 years inclusive
  • 11 – 13 years inclusive
  • 14 – 17 years inclusive
  • 18 years and over (Adult)

The Special Category allows participants with a physical or intellectual disability to be actively encouraged by their teachers to submit entries in free expression painting or drawing without the restrictions of the competitions official theme (should they so wish).

The competition is judged on three levels.

Stage 1 – Local Event

Stage 2 – Chapter or Regional Event

Stage 3 – National Event

The local stage of the competition will be judged by adjudicators appointed by North Midlands Credit Union and prizes will be given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each category. The winning entry in each category in the local stage will go on to the regional final and the winning entries only at the regional final will go on to the national final.

The winning posters at National Level may form the basis for the Annual Credit Union Calendar.

*An entry form must be completed and attached to each entry for the art work to be valid*

As we are embracing a greener and sustainable world, this year, to ensure this competition keeps up with this, we are aiming to reduce the amount of paper used. For this reason, we have developed all art material in a digital format, which is placed on our website, emailed to schools and shared on social media. These digital copies are editable, meaning there is no requirement for printing large volumes of entry forms.
