North Midlands Credit Union – Primary Schools Quiz
The primary schools quiz is one of our biggest events in the Credit Union calendar. It was just fantastic to have our schools quiz back for another year and to also see the huge turnout of students, parents, and teachers.
Due to now having 72 primary schools in our common bond area and with space constraints in venues, we deemed it necessary to hold two quizzes over two nights.
We held our first Quiz on Friday 26th January in Longford and on Monday 29th January 2024 in the Mullingar Park Hotel.
We had a total of 32 schools in the Mullingar Park Hotel, made up of 62 teams with 248 students taking part. The quiz was to a very high standard with all schools doing exceptionally well. There were two categories – Competition A which was for students under 11 years of age and Competition B which was for students under 13 years of age.

Winners
The winners of Competition A in Longford were:
1st place – St. Mary’s Primary School Edgeworthstown
2nd place – Melview National School, Longford
Joint 3rd place – Scoil Mhuire Newtownforbes and Colehill National School
The winners of Competition B in Longford were:
1st Place – St. Mary’s Primary School Edgeworthstown
2nd Place – Stonepark National School
Joint 3rd place – Colehill National school, St Teresa National School Killoe and Whitehall National school.
The winners of Competition A in Mullingar were:
1st place – Gaelscoil An Mhuillean
2nd place – St. Marys National school Raharney
3rd place – Scoil Chroi Naofa Rochfortbridge
The winners of Competition B in Mullingar were:
1st place – Scoil Chroi Naofa Rochfortbridge
2nd place – St. Patrick’s National School Ballinagore.
3rd place – St. Colemans National School Mullingar
The second stage of the national Schools Quiz takes place in will take place on Friday 1st March in Moate Community Hall.
